- We are not AA affiliated, but we try to adhere to the same ideas and principles.
During Turn-Based Meetings:
- Click on the hand icon to raise your hand. Wait for the chairperson to call your name before you speak.
- When you are done speaking, please click the hand icon with the red cross through it.
- Please, no questions until the meeting is over.
- Do not interrupt those that are sharing.
- No cross typing, Please respect the person who is sharing.
Chairperson Rules
- Nobody is allowed to chair "Open Chat." Open Chat is this site's equivalent to a lobby.
- Members are allowed to chair a new meeting, even if it isn't part of the meeting schedule.
- Anyone is allowed to chair, as long as someone else hasn't already started chairing.
- You are allowed to chair a meeting in any manner you see fit, as long as you follow the rules above.
Chairperson Duties
- To open a meeting, while in a room click the preset drop down menu, and click "Open Meeting."
- You can click on "Silence" to pause for a moment of silence for those who still suffer.
- Click on "How It Works" (pt.1 through 3) to display the first few paragraphs of Chapter 5: How it Works. Please allow everyone plenty of time to read it before continuing.
- If you want, you can have someone say the 12 steps & 12 Traditions, which can also be found here.
- Click on the "How It Works Ending" to finish.
- If you would like the meeting to be turn based, you can remind members by clicking "Hand Raising."
- If you would like the meeting to not be turn based (more like a chat room) you can click "No Hand Raising."
- To close the meeting, choose "Close Meeting" and follow with either the Lord's Prayer or Serenity Prayer.
